McKay Criminal Defence LLP is pleased to announce that Brad Smith will be joining us as a Student at Law in May, 2018.
Mr. Smith obtained his Juris Doctor with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 2018. With a focus on criminal and constitutional law, he received numerous awards for outstanding academic performance. Outside of law school, Mr. Smith was involved with the evaluation of Saskatoon’s Mental Health Court and has volunteered with Saskatoon’s community legal assistance clinic. Through this work, he has represented individuals charged under both the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Drawing on the experience of the lawyers at McKay Criminal Defence LLP, Mr. Smith plans to focus his articling year on furthering his practice in criminal defence litigation and mental health law.
